U9 Girls White (2011s)

The Corte Madera FC U9 Girls White team, led by Matt Robbins and trained by Martine, is off to a supersonic start to the season. With two recent big home wins (the first two wins of the year), the Sonics are starting to find their rhythm as a team. The team had a great win on Saturday but had a difficult test on Sunday against a very strong Marin FC Blue team. Certainly more important than wins is the fact that the Sonics are improving each week and always having fun. The girls have perhaps the most intricate and pumped-up team cheer in all of the County, and bring that same spirit and energy to their play on the pitch. Go Sonics!

U9 Girls Red (2011s)

You might have heard of The Corte Madera FC U9 Girls Red team, or as they are more affectionately known – the Red Hawks. WIth Kurt Houtkooper and Morgan Berman at the helm, the Hawks are the talk of the pitch and known for aggressive play, team ball movement and arguably the loudest cheers in all of NorCal. The Hawks have shown great resilience, determination and a willingness to learn. Every girl on the team has played, or will play, every position. Yes, even goalie! Equally impressive is the fact that the team boasts matching bows, ribbons (with names and numbers) and smiles for days. This team really looks the part. But don’t be deceived by their smiles, charm and cheer; these girls are all business when they are on the pitch. Playing in a very competitive division, they have defeated the Mustangs, tied a few teams from Santa Rosa, and dropped a few heart-breakers to Mill Valley.  This weekend the Hawks head to Palo Alto to participate in the Tall Trees Tournament. If you have not heard of the Red Hawks, consider this fair warning. You will!
