Congratulations to all of our Corte Madera FC teams that played last weekend! Whether your child’s team made it to the finals of her tournament or lost most games, I am guessing that your child had a blast. These tournament weekends are usually our kids’ favorite weekends of the fall. A friend’s daughter played in the Santa Cruz tournament last weekend. Upon her daughter’s return home, my friend asked her daughter the three highlights of the weekend. Not surprisingly, not one of the highlights had anything to do with soccer; she loved swimming in the pool, going to the Beach Boardwalk, and staying in the hotel with her Corte Madera FC teammates. Of course, we all want our kids to love soccer and develop as players, but we also have to remember that it’s the moments OFF the field that our kids will remember most.
